We are looking for a Clinical Systems Administrator Full Time

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

Collaboratively develops yearly operational work plans and associated budget.

Facilitates and encourages participation from stakeholders during process, system or application changes and project management.

Implementation of education activities pertaining to technology introduction and recommend and implement changes as necessary; develop new educational materials. Identify and implement promotional needs for these programs.

Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, physicians and company representatives. Develop collaboration with other groups and report status of collaborations to the IT Director and department heads.

Willingness to have flexibility of schedule so as to be able to support clinicians on all shifts throughout the week.

Communicates regularly and professionally with the EMR company contacts to report and follow up on system errors and outstanding issues affecting performance of assigned responsible systems to assure issues are being actively resolved and our model is kept as current and viable as possible.

Responsible for EMR education of all new employees or individuals requiring EMR access. Demonstrates the ability to educate colleagues, physicians and other professions needing to access the EMR. Ability to develop EMRs "work-flows" as well as adapt them dynamically as needs change.

  • Solve problems as presented by users with regard to usage of computer related systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Information Technology department, Nursing and other clinical departments.
  • Assist in orientation of new clinical personnel; including physicians.

Responsible for all clinical aspects of Meaningful Use implementation and user training. Guides our EMR implementation through to successful attestation of "Meaningful Use".

Perform regular updates to EMR software.

Works with clinics to support their success with technology in the clinical setting.

Review adoption of acute clinical systems and develop strategies to foster adoption, improve workflows and support and enhance clinical care through the use of technology.

 

Demonstration of critical thinking skills in times of stress.

Evidence capability in establishing standards for excellence in clinical technology implementation.

Demonstrates ability to remain current in research regarding technological healthcare trends with a view to being proactive rather than reactive in adoption of technological advances.

Performs administrative duties as needed; management reports, plans a monthly calendar for educational activities; orders supplies and equipment etc.

Treats patients and families with respect and dignity; ensures patient confidentiality.

Documentation meets current standards and policies.

Operates equipment correctly and safely.

Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized.

Studies current trends, new technology/development, teaching methodologies through professional journals, seminars/conferences, professional societies, etc. in both clinical technology and general healthcare.

Represents the hospital and clinics at local, regional and national meetings as appropriate to support and improve clinical care in the acute care environment.

Accepts additional responsibilities as assigned

Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Completes annual and continuing educational requirements. Attends education in service programs to maintain professional competencies. Obtains appropriate hospital-specific education and training.

Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly.

 

Attends annual competency review and department in services, as appropriate.

Actively participates in the facility's continuous quality improvement (QPI) activities.

 

Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.

 

Communicates the mission, vision, values, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the Standards of Behavior and focus statement of the organization.

 

 

 

 

 

Education and Regulatory Requirements:

  • Clinical license (nursing, radiology, lab, etc.) and/or be current on clinical documentation requirements. Current license preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of varied experience in an acute care setting preferred.

  • EMR background preferred.

  • Previous leadership role preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Additional languages preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal management skills.

  • Understand/knowledge of nursing management practices, clinical documentation cycle and an understanding of interrelationships between clinical departments.

  • Communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain competencies as required for job title.

  • Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension and expression.

  • Ability to manage a fast-paced, chaotic work environment.
