We are looking for a PRN RN for Acute Care Med/Surg
 

DEFINITION

A Licensed Professional Nurse who is currently licensed in the State of Idaho and

is in good professional standing.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Follow policies if any high risk legal situations arise, e.g., rape cases, drawing of blood alcohol’s, suicides, overdoses, coroner’s cases, child abuse cases, victims of knife or gunshot wounds, or other reportable to law enforcement agencies, the Charge Nurse should be aware of situation if at all possible.
  • Reports to Medical/Surgical floor for routine floor report.
  • Receives all emergency room patients and is responsible to routine emergency and outpatient care on his/her shift.
  • Keeps the Emergency Department stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Performs assigned tasks on Medical/Surgical floor when needed if trained appropriately.
  • Reports to the Charge Nurse as needed regarding his/her present situation/census and needs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to calculate medication dosages.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must hold Nursing license issued from the State of Idaho. License must be current and in good standing.
