We are looking for a PRN CNA in Countryside Care and Rehab
 

SUMMARY

A nursing assistant cares for patients under direction of licensed nursing staff and medical staff, by performing the duties that follow.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Ability to follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policies and procedures.

  • Ability to identify special patient problems, unusual problems and/or incidents and report them immediately to Charge Nurse in addition to completing documentation according to established facility procedures.

  • Ability to provide direct patient care as assigned.

  • Ability to initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance of Charge Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and/or Director of Nursing.

  • Ability to participate in facility education programs and attend all classes as assigned.

  • Ability to assume personal responsibility for following facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies within the unit.

  • Ability to assume accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the unit assigned and within his/her space of control.

  • Ability to review care plans and perform nursing care as outlined within scope of practice.

  • Ability to document in the nursing assistant notes the care and treatment provided to the patient and the patient's response or lack of response to care provided.

  • Ability to report changes in patients' conditions to Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.

  • Ability to follow facility procedures for admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.

  • Ability to listen to patient and family complaints and report problems to Charge Nurse.

  • Ability to answer call lights.

  • Ability to give morning care to all patients assigned.

  • Ability to pull up side rails and roll beds down.

  • Ability to change incontinent patients.

  • Ability to walk ambulatory patients.

  • Ability to take ambulatory patients to bathroom every two hours and as requested.

  • Ability to make sure all patients are offered nourishment at appropriate times in addition to documenting the results.

  • Ability to turn and reposition all bed and chair patients.

  • Ability to place bedpans, linens, washbasins and soiled linen in proper area.

  • Ability to complete food percentage, intake and output, and bowel and bladder records.

  • Ability to empty and record all urinary drainage units.

  • Ability to complete charts on all patients.

  • Ability to observe infection control procedures.

  • Ability to be responsible for the safety of patients under his/her supervision.

  • Ability to follow Patient's Rights policies at all times.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with patients, charge nurses, licensed nursing staff, restorative assistants, physicians, families, consultant personnel, and ancillary providers.

  • Ability to observe all facility safety policies and procedures.

  • Ability to perform other related duties as directed by the Director of Nursing.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrates competency in skills and techniques necessary to care for residents needs as identified through the resident assessment and described in the plan of care.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program that is approved by the State of Idaho and hold a current certificate in good standing.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
