The purpose of Minidoka Memorial Hospital is to provide and promote high-quality, compassionate, primary health care services and health education to residents of, and visitors to, the Mini-Cassia region. We provide excellent benefits and small town environment.

 

Working with the Chief Nursing Officer and Human Resource Director, the Facility Education Consultant provides clinical and non-clinical education oversight for the facility. This includes the hospital, clinics, home care, and long term care employees as directed. Coordinates, plans, implements, and evaluates educational programs designed to meet the assessed needs of Minidoka Memorial Hospital in a continuing effort to ensure quality care and develop standards of practice that are aligned with accreditation requirements. Serves as a resource/consultant/ facilitator to others in the facility. Collaborates with leadership, content experts, and staff to facilitate learner’s achievement of educational goals. Acts as a role model of competency and professionalism.

JOB ESSENTIALS

  • Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with educational institutions, learning centers, and educators outside of the hospital.

  • Facilitates clinical rotations and internships with students and education institutions.

  • Oversees and accountable for job shadowing program.

  • Provides community education based on community needs and direction from CNO and HRD.

  • Confers with clinical and non-clinical managers and supervisors to determine training needs.

  • Reviews current educational programs and determines strategic modifications to align the hospital with CMS and accreditation requirements.

  • Confers with educational institutions and management to develop programs and services consistent with mandated curriculum requirements.

  • Organizes and develops training materials, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.

  • Accountable to present or assist in presenting trainings as needed.

  • Actively seeks out developmental cost-effective trainings for managers and employees with recommendations sent to HRD and CNO.

  • Assists in reviewing and monitoring employee files to ensure certifications and licensures are current.

  • Communicates with managers to inform them employee’s licensure/certification due dates.

  • Accountable to notify human resources when employee’s certification/licensure is expired.

  • Coordinates training courses with technical and professional courses offered by community schools.

  • Assists in developing and maintaining educational policies and procedures to establish clear and consistent educational practices.

  • Coordinates with the AHA learning center to ensure employees receive appropriate and high-quality training.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited educational institution.
  • Current Idaho RN License
  • Basic Life Support Certification for healthcare providers (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • At least 5 years background and experience in nursing with skills in teaching/learning OR At least 2 years’ experience in nursing with skills in teaching/learning AND Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN).

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Charge Nurse Experience is strongly desired.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
