Description


The purpose of Minidoka Memorial Hospital is to provide and promote high-quality, compassionate, primary health care services and health education to residents of, and visitors to, the Mini-Cassia region. We provide excellent benefits and small town environment.

A Certified Nursing Assistant cares for patients under direction of licensed nursing staff and medical staff, by performing the duties that follow.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policies and procedures.

  • Will serve as primary resident caregiver to assist resident needs to include but not limited to Adl’s, mobility, cognitive needs, daily cares, toileting, turning etc. as needed, directed or care-planned within scope of practice.

     

  • Must identify report and chart appropriately any resident issues, unusual problems, change of conditions and/or incidents and report immediately to Charge Nurse, LPN, or CNA Supervisor and initiate corrective action as needed, necessary or directed.

     

  • Provide and assume responsibility and be accountable for direct patient care as assigned or required while being in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.

     

  • Initiates corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance of Charge Nurse, LPN, CNA Supervisor and/or Director of Nursing.

     

  • Participates in or completes continuing education, staff meetings, and care learning to meet required standards.

     

  • Documents in the nursing assistant notes the care and treatment provided to the patient and the patient's response or lack of response to care provided.

     

  • Follows facility procedures for admission, discharge, and transfer of patients as needed.

     

  • Observes infection control procedures, follows Patient Rights policies, and provides for patient safety.

     

  • Works cooperatively with patients, charge nurses, licensed nursing staff, restorative assistants, physicians, families, consultant personnel, and ancillary providers.

     

  • Listens to concerns from residents, family members or friends addressing concerns and take or directed to the appropriate department or supervisor.

     

  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Director of Nursing.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current C.N.A. Certification from Idaho

  • High school Diploma or equivalent

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Applies commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and deals with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Perceive the nature of sounds by the ear, express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word, perceive characteristics of objects through the eyes, extend arms and hands in any direction, seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands, pick, pinch, or otherwise work with fingers, perceive such attributes of objects or materials as size, shape, temperature, or texture; and stoop, kneel crouch, and crawl. Must be able to lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting, carrying pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Continuous walking and standing. Must be able to identify, match, and distinguish colors. Rare lifting of greater than 100 pounds.
